Dime Novel Publishing works with two kinds of authors:
- Contracted
- Independent
Contracted
Contracted authors represent writers who have been hired by DimeNovel Publishing to produce a series. In this situation, DimeNovel Publishing retains 100% ownership of the finished product and all intellectual property of the series (regardless if the author adds to it during the course of the series; this is a standard “Work For Hire” arrangement and writers are paid on our standard rate). Authors are provided by-line acknowledgment for each issue they write. Multiple authors may work on a given series.
Independent
Independent authors represent writers who have submitted a series idea to DimeNovel Publishing (or have been approached by DimeNovel Publishing to develop a series) that has been accepted. These writers retain ownership of the finished product and all intellectual property of the series (i.e., characters, storyline, etc.) as specified in our standard Author Contract.
