Dime Novel Publishing does not have a specific writing style for its series. But each series must adhere to some general guidelines:

• Targeted at ages 8-14. This requires that language and sentence structure be kept within bounds.
• Appropriate subject matter. Because of the target audience, certain subject matter must be kept out of books. This can include, but is not limited to, characters committing abject violence, drinking, smoking, sexual acts, etc. Of course, we recognize that some storylines may have a need for the character to “transgress” commonly-accepted behavior. We deal with those on a case-by-case basis.
• Villain. Each series has one or more recurring villains.
• Arc. Each issue within a series should have a small story arc. The series itself, because it is not a contained story line, may contain multiple arcs that can be resolved at any time.
